Off topic but big news that needs covering.
If you have been around on the PS3 Jailbreak scene from the early days then you will remember the late Christmas present we got in 2010-11. Just as many of Sony’s consoles has found their way into homes across the globe a bunch of hackers busted it wide open. Paving the way for first game backups and then homebrew and everthing else that came after.
This time for PS4 owners its an early Christmas present based on the work of just one hacker by the name of CTurt.
PS4 Hack: Background of the kernal exploit
What Cturt did was discover a PS4 Kernal exploit which gave access to the ram and a way of patching the ram. This then leads to running of unsigned code.
What does this mean for PS4 users?
Well for current users there’s a working jailbreak with backup manager on the way. It is also likely we will be seeing dongles heading this way from China soon too.
For those people waiting until Christmas and a new PS4, all you can do is sit and hope that Sony don’t release an update before December the 25th.
For PS4 systems up to firmware version 3.11
