Should you buy a PS4 Pro now and not update it as recommended by famous PS3 Hacker Mathieulh recently? When pushed for further details Mathieulh simply said “Anything lower than 4.06 is fine”.
This snippet of information isn’t much but when combined with the knowledge that the recent Sony firmware 4.06 update patched the working PS4 Jailbreak 4.01. This means the jailbreak will work on any version up to and including 4.05. Now, currently all new PS4 Pro’s are shipping with firmware 3.70 which is obviously ripe to jailbreak.
It should also be noted here that most new PS4 Slims are still shipping with 3.55. So if you are not going down the Pro route then this is probably a better option for you.
But before you rush out and buy a new PS4 or PS4 Pro to jailbreak do remember that you will not be able to update it. At least until the PS4 jailbreak for 4.01 and above is released publicly. This jailbreak has been confirmed by many high up sources and is expected to go public in the not to very distant future. Rest assured as soon as the PS4 Jailbreak is released details will be posted here.
